I forget the name but i knida liked that one about shirley muldowney the drag car lady. It was actualy pretty good. Days of thunder was enjoyable to watch but is a far cry from the greatest movie ever. It was average at best. Stroker was just funny as heck, yea fake as heck but i laugh everytime i see it. But just the fact that we are talking about the speedbowl in a movie with actual know actors i find pretty cool. Not Stafford, not Thompson, The filppin bowl? Come on bad movie or not thats something i never thought i would see

How come noone has mentioned the racing movie Redline 7000, another classic in the day. If I remember right it had some nasty crash and burn footage in it from real NASCAR racing.

Yes, Scott, classic movie for sure. Very hard to find, and never on TV.

LuvtheMods- The Shirley Muldowney movie was "Heart Like a Wheel". On a personal note, in the late 70's, Shirley was injured in a drag racing accident. She still showed up at the Lock, Stock and Barrel Restaurant in Darien,CT for the start of one of the cannonball runs. She was the "Grand Marshall". My mother made sure we got to meet her. Very nice woman. She talked with us like we were family members and she had nothing else in the world to do.

Only because you love Tom Cruise and bad acting. lol. I liked it too, but as far as a "real" race movie, seriously? The best movie ever. lmao. yeah, right up there with Gone with the wind, One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest and at least 20 or 30 other movies I would put in front of it.

Ya, I know it's a shit movie, but it's so horrifically bad it's good.

I wouldn't go that far Matt. I like it for what it was. A big budget movie about Tom Cruise that had some very unrealistic, improbable, racing footage. Every time I see him get out of the car with a face so blackened with soot, that it looks like his exhaust was aimed at his face, I laugh. The interesting parts of that movie are the stories behind some of the scenes and how they relate to some true life events of former NASCAR drivers.

Warren, when/if you see the movie, it will make more sense to you. It is funny, but on purpose. It has to do with the big sponsor "Rob's Furniture" Those are recliners. They weren't trying to make it look like anything other than a 'reserved seating area with ridiculously out of place, overstuffed recliners for seating.
