Just went over the Ticket Prices for the Stafford and Waterford Nights of May 28th and 29th.

On the 28th Stafford will have the WMT-125 Laps and 5 regular division events for 30$.

On the 29th Waterford will have ISMA-50 Laps with 4 division events for 32$.

Now it just might be me, a person who loves to save as much money as can for a racing weekend. But dose this look a little bit wrong? ISMA cost more then WMT with less laps? It makes you think what the "Wings 'N Wheels" Is going to cost 40$, 50$? Most likely I'm going to go to both tracks.

But what do you all think? Do you think something is just a bit weird about it? I'd love to hear all of your feed Back.

Not just you Paul. May be just us but i think there are alot of peeps dissapointed with the bowl this year on various levels. Im no math major but 14 doubled would 28 right? So 32 is like double plus 25% on top of that. To me its just not worth it and wont be there. At least at stafford you get 26-30 sk's, 20-24 sk lights and usualy around20- 24 late models. Staffords extreme tuesday with ISMA NEMA and pro 4's is only 30 bucks. No reg divisions but is still ISMA and carries a lower ticket. They used to put 5$ coupons in the Norwich Bulletin for special events and now not even offering fans that little bit of help. If my memory is correct this same even last year was 25. I'll pay the commonly over priced ticket but this is just ridiculously over priced and a total rip off.

How bout them trucks though? Gotaa love a 7 car race with the winner 1/2 a lap ahead of 2nd. They should be flip floped with the x-mods on wednesday. Brand new series sponsor and the result is 7 trucks? Pretty much speaks for itself.

Anybody else think previous weeks winner should start dead last the next week? Wont say any names but he would probly still win.

I totaly agree that ticket prices are getting way to high. But are they so much more because of the cost to get the big ISMA mods to show up or are the prices just a way to fatten up someones wallet.

I would have to say both. Isma price increase in understanable and expected. Double plus 4 though seems like wallet fattening to me. Just my opinion. I tell myself over and over im done yet am still there every week. Not this time, I cant justify payin that price.

Well, I don't have anything to do with calculating the prices but before the season started lots of peeps were on here saying how they liked the seasons schedule because the track was bringing in some good series. And they also said that they were happy that the track wasn't closing because of lack of funds. Now the tickets are to expensive and the shows aren't worth seeing... Like I said I have nothing to do with any of it but maybe the higher prices are to do with trying to keep the bills paid and to where it won't be a mini mall next season.

Not trying to upset anyone but an outsiders look at it. I agree it seems strange that the prices are higher but if they are trying to keep the place a race track then they must have a reason.

Steve

Steve, I gotta agree with you, the worst thing in the world would be for the Waterford Speedbowl to be turned into condos or a strip mall. But I think it is absolutely asinine for any Saturday night short track to charge 30-40 some odd dollars when you can buy a Cup ticket for the same price. I love the bowl, I've been going there for 30 years but all the tracks in CT are a little bit overpriced. Somehow, someway (I'm not a mathematician) but a speedbowl race should not cost as much as a Cup race, even when the Isma or the former True Value are there.

Steve I see your point and I understand but we all have the right to b***h  Thing's I will pay for high price is "Wing's N Wheels", The last event for the year, "Thunder on the Sound" and even for the ACT and MRS. Why will I pay for them? because they are events that I'm looking forward to. But to ask for 32$ for a regular night with ISMA that only does 50 laps, Just makes me a little bit upset. Why can't they go 75 or even 100 laps? I know the bowl needs income to stay ware it is and not turn into some condo's. But sometimes your customers will turn a blind eye for short night of auto racing that will dig deep into their wallets. Just think about it, A family of 5, 2 adults 2 children and one baby. That all adds up to 84$ (do you think the parents will go?) Most likely I'll be at the track not paying rent for one week wont hurt...right?

I agree as well with not wanting the place to shut down. I am 36 and been goin since i was a lil kid. My issue is not with paying more to see the supers, It is the amount over that i have a problem with. Price Gouging the peeps that are there every single week just doesnt seem like the right way to go about things. Yes it is a buisness and they need to profit, but 32 bucks just for isma just is not a fair price for a 50 lap race. If they threw in extra distance for the SK's,streets and mini's it wourl be a lil easier to swallow. Still high but i would pay it then.

I won't be there that night.

Might as well save the money and show up Sunday night for the demo show.

That has to be a typo.

My thoughts on special shows is you are not only selling that night of racing you are putting your race program in front of many new people that follow that series and people that just want to see something different. Hopefully some of them come back with some type of ticket deal for a regular Sat show if they liked what they saw.

When they feel like they took it hard at the gate, they are thinking they'll never come back no matter how good the rest of the show was. The past leadership proved this.

I couldn't care less if the supers are there, I just get taxed for it but will be there anyway. the regular fan might not.
