Hi

The jeff-pearl.com website used to have this but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know where I can find how the driver's are seeded for heats/features? It was based on points/races over the past 3 weeks or something. I remember reading somewhere that the winner of a previous week feature could not start the current week's feature higher than 5th but am interested in seeing the weekly "standings".

Anyhow just curious if this available to the general public - I think it would be kind of interesting to try to figure out the feature lineups every weekend. :)

Thanks
Stephen

I don't believe it's money won in the prior 3 weeks anymore, nor is the rule about a previous winner starting no better than 5th in affect anymore either. The handicapping system's a little too complicated for my liking these days. I'm hoping someday soon the handicapping (as well as the point structure) will be on speedbowl.com readily available for anyone interested. But until then, I'd shoot the track an email to get more details.

I was wondering the same thing...How does a first time competitor start ahead of a competitor who has been there all season so far. That happened this weekend in the heats...I don't know how they figure it.

I think and this is in no way confirmed but just what i beleive to be part of the process. Heat lineups are based on a combination of the order of which teams sign in for the day,and average finishes.

Feature lineups i think are based on average finish combined with which heat they are in. for example rocco who has won every week so far if he is heat 1 he would start 10th,heat 2 11th or 3rd heat would put him 12th. i dont think it makes any difference if he wins it or not,as long as gets a top 4 finish the handicap is the same. Very confusing to say the least but that is my best guess

The speedbowl uses a point system for handicapping. I do not have the numbers handy but 1st place finish gives you a huge amount of points, 2nd and third also have a good amount of point value for handicap.

The three weeks prior are what set the heat races. The driver with the least amount of points using the system above will start on the pole in the first heat, 2nd fewest points get the pole in the second heat, 3rd fewest gets the pole in the 3rd heat and so on.

Let's say they are taking the top 4 in each heat with 3 heats in the SK's...

Finishing 4th or better in your heat locks you into the top 12 for the features start. (4 cars from 3 heats) Those 12 cars get re-handicapped. The guy from that 12 car group with the fewest points from the above system starts on the pole and so on.

New cars and guys that don't race every week get credited for winning for the weeks they are not there. Muffy, where you talking about the SK's? They went in order, the new car went last in the 3rd heat.

I was talking about the #60 SK -- I believe this was his first week, but I think he started in front of other cars that have already raced there this season. I was confused when I saw the lineup for the 3rd heat.

the points sheet used for handicapping is posted in the pit area at the handicappers tower.

warren is 100% on with his version of how it works.
