39th Annual CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler have been postponed to Saturday, May 1st with a rain date of Sunday, May 2nd.

P.S. What the heck they can't have it on a Friday or a Sunday they have to have it on a Saturday? Someone is not thinking of the Speedbowl in mind.

I don't think the other tracks really care about each other. The more people they can steal from the other tracks, the better.

Remember way back when all 3 CT Tracks worked together and they had the Tri Track Series

You can't blame them for going for Saturday, it gives them two days incase of rain again.

Yes, I remember those days back when we were running a late model. I remember as many as 50 LM's at the track on Saturday night, running 5 heats with 10 or more cars each with only the top five qualifying for the feature. Then there were 2 consolation races taking just 2 more in each race to fill the field. Many cars still went home without getting to race. I know because way too many nights I had to sit out in the grandstands watching the LM feature with a cold Busch beer. Those were the days.

Those days are gone for sure. Now it is what it is. Stafford will always have the most cars, Sure they make some bad calls or decisions but they doin something right. proof is in the car counts and seats. They dont care about the bowl and dont really have to. running on sat gives em a sunday cushion incase of rain.

Thompson's car counts are quite low as well but they offer a nice relaxing thursday night. no dilly dallying and home by 10.

The bowl however, ummm well its the bowl. Best on track raceing hands down,but they lack 1 thing that the other 2 tracks have, $$$$$$$ Its alot easier to dig out of a hole with a new shovel, they just cant buy one. they can tweak this and tweek that but the end it comes down to money. until they have the sponsorship and partners to properly fix the place and run it correctly it is what it is. While i commend they're effort they just have too many issues that require dollars to fix. I think we all know that. with what they have with no money it really makes me think what could be with a lil finacial boost. Hopefully they can hang on until that day comes.

Well for this Saturday Stafford Schedule is as followed.

7:00 AM - Paddock area will open
11:15 AM - 12:15 PM - Pit Party
12:30 - 1:00 PM - Practice sessions SK Modified & Late Model divisions
1:00 PM - 1:30 PM - Whelen Modified Tour practice
2:00 PM SK Modified 40-lap Feature - Late Model 30-lap feature
3:15 PM 200-lap Whelen Modified Tour take's the green flag
5:00 PM estimated end time (by my calculations)

Waterford Speedbowl Heats start at 5:30 PM. Anyone thinking of making the double track that night?...Sounds tempting. Remember the tracks are hour away driving time I think.

45 mins? whoaa you musta been rolling or know a shortcut. best i have ever done is a lil over an hour track to track. Any one plannin the double dip should plan on missing the heats at the bowl unless you leave stafford early. Supposed to be 80 on sunday and the place will be packed. will lose alot of time gettin out of the parking lot with the tour running last. I was there last week, good field of sk's. 26 to start i beleive. Ran 2 consis and sent home 4. I think, idk if they have provisionals or not but was 30 on hand. Should be a great day followed by a good night for those who make the double trip.
