As a big You Tube guy. (watch more videos on-line then tv.) I've seen a lot of video's be taken down because of Copy Right Laws. A way you can get by this is finding a cover song of the song you are playing. Say you want to play "House of the rising sun" well find a cover that is a little more slower, or techno like or just played with a piano? Or find a artist that will give you his or her music for free. Try looking at Bandcamp.com a lot of people around the world give out their music for free. Might not be popular but it would be funny to see the bowl guys try and sing a song they never heard of before. And also at the end of the video always give out credit ware credit is do. I see a lot of video makers put music in the video and not say who the music is by at the end of the video, or in the description. Just some tips to help you out for You Tube dose not turn into a jerk and block another video.

I got to see the video before it was taken down and it was funny. I would love to see another one.

Doing it with a song no one has ever heard of would be not that smart. Half the reason people will watch it is because they know the song.

Also to avoid copyright issues, put a thirty second intro into it, or slow the song down by about a half second.

Well, there is a law called the Fair Use Act which can allow for copyrighted material to be used under certain circumstances. I thought 2 of those applied to this video (1- it was a parody and 2- it was not for commercial use or profitability). I filed a dispute with Youtube so it wouldn't be blocked, but I got a notice from Youtube last night stating the EMI (who owns the publishing rights to "Sure Shot" by Beastie Boys) reviewed the video and decided to block it. They didn't delete it completely (under my Youtube log-in, it's still viewable), but it is blocked. They said the block could be removed, but at EMI's discretion (which I'm guessing is highly unlikely). So, I knew something like this could potentially happen... risk I took going in. Like I said previously, video is now on the FB Sid's Vault page for anyone who uses Facebook. Otherwise, you're S.O.L. unless you saw it on Youtube before it was blocked... or if FB blocks it too. At which point, I'll leave it alone...

I know all about the other options with remakes, etc.... but they wouldn't be nearly as funny. This is why I used my buddy John Fries music most of the time with our videos
