The weather for Saturday was bad. 60% at 6:00 PM and 100% at 8:00 PM. I would have thought that they would have canceled the show, but by god the bowl was determent to get the show in. They must have broken the laws of physics and gravity. Because the only thing I can think of a way the bowl could have stop the rain from coming down is the tornado vortex. Keep the cars going fast and in a circle and they will push the rain around the bowl.

In the pits the Mods were looking low. During practice I only counted 13 Mods in the pits. But over time teams and drivers started to come in leaving 18 SK to start the race. The rain sure did take it's part and scarring off a lot of teams. The Late Models had a good number I seen 2 ACT teams? If no one new or know what happened, one of the crew members of the #79 SS team cut him self vary badly. He cut him self working on the car in the back. He was sitting on top of the gas tank when he cut him self, he had to nick a arterie, blood was everywhere. It was a good thing that the EMT's were their with in seconds and the crew member was sent to the hospital. It looks like he was going to be okay but does anyone have any updates on his status?

With rain on it's way the Late Models was pushed from last to first. I don't blame them to moving it. Some news Jason Palmer was sick so he stayed home. Richard Staskowski is going up to NH next week to try and make it into the ACT race. I don't know if anyone else is going to try it but it should be interesting to hear or read if someone does. Anthony Flannery did all he could to stop the invading ACT driver Wayne Helliwell Jr. but he was to fast. I'm sure if the forecast was for sunny skies their would have been more then 20 cars in that race, but it is as it is. The once impossible to pass Bruce Thomas Jr is now having to battle for the tittle with "Big County" Jeff Smith. Richard Staskowski is not to far behind, all he needs is to be consistent and we could have a three way battle for the tittle. Also a good run for the part timer Jeffery Paul as he got into the top 5. The best battle in that race was for 3rd, Joe Curioso was battling Jeff Smith side by side for 3rd. :o

Last note about the Late Models. It says on the schedule on August 20th that they have another 50 Lap race. Well word from the pits from the LM drivers is that the schedule is wrong. I talked to Mark Caise and he told me that it was an error on the site as well. Well if they don't change it on the website soon then your going to have some disgruntled fans going to to bowl expecting something that will not happen. :?

After that race, I was going to get some Ice-cream. But It was not that hot out and the wind did pick up so it was cool and relaxing out. Even if you did feel a drop of water here and there. So I decided to get some coffee. And I'm happy they dropped the price. It was 2.50$ now it's 2$. As I paid for my coffee and open the coffee lid to put in some cream and sugar I noticed that something was not right. You could see the bottom of the cup. I took a sip and it was all water. It was water down coffee. I told the guy behind the food stand. He then told me that the coffee maker was not working right. I told him "That's not right." To not tick off the customer you tell them that the coffee maker is not working. Water down coffee is horrible. And Shadow-x can agree with me here. Almost unforgivable. I did get my money back, and I'm sure by next week they will have it fixed. Someone like me that drinks 1 or 2 cups a day. (Morning and Night) Has to make sure that the coffee is perfect before consuming. I will be more then happy to pay for another cup of coffee this week I just hope they don't mix up my coffee with tea

Next up was the Pro-4 Mods. 13 cars took the green flag. 6 finished. It was a good race. I was going to make a joke to Scott Tapley to allow the Pro-4 guys in the SK race to fill up to last two spots to make it a full filed. But the guy seems busy all the time so I'll just post it here. And yes in know that would never happen or work out but it's still a funny thought. :P

Next up the Mini Stocks. Ray Christian III had a good lead on everyone but a cation came out and brought all the hard chargers back to him. Lap Ten Glen Colvin got into and Ray Christian III and almost spun each other out but they both got going. Ray did not like that and under caution get into Glen. And was DQ, It just shows that the officials at the bowl will not take any BS. Charles Canfield was being black flagged. He did not go in and they threw out the cation throwing him out of the race. Jeffery Cembruch and Ian Brew did all they could to pull in leader Ken Cassidy Jr but it was to late and he won the race.

Next up was the SK Mods. We had new faces at the bowl this week. #95 of Vinny Anglace I talked to the crew they said they have not been to the bowl in over a decade. They mainly race at Stafford. #15 of Harry Rheaume and #67 of Paul Tommasino. Even Diego Monahan showed up with his car. But he hit something hard and he messed up the left side tire. I hope the car is not hurt to much. Only one Gada this week, Adam Gada gave it all he could in the race. The other Gada's were in Texas this week visiting family. Nichole Morgillo has the lead for 2 laps in till "Weatherman God Father" Rob Janovic Jr took the lead and never looked back. Tyler Chadwick gave all Black Betty had to his godfather but Rob Janovic took the win. During practice It's always fun when you can talk to the crews and drivers. Joe Perry and Tom Abele Jr told me that their cars were bad. they finished in the top ten. If that's not a good finish then I don't know what is.  Keith Rocco had a problem with his car that night and finished in the top 5. It just shows you that even the Speed Demon like him self can have a bad night.

Another good thing that happened is that Tyler Chadwick invited me to victory lane whenever he wins. I love taking pictures with drivers and crews after they win a race. I want to one day show my kids and my brother and sister kids that I was in a picture with the best of the best in CT. I don't invite my self into the pictures that's just inconsiderate and rude. If a crew member or a driver invites me then that is just freaking cool!

Next and last is was the Street Stocks. I had a chat with a few of the SS guys. The #95 Kevin Burr had a crappy start in practice when the exhaust pipe broke. He told me that this was his second start at the bowl this year. Me and Josh Galvin have a funny joke going on. If his car is crappy in practice then that means he has a good chance of having a good run and even a win. But he said that the car was good in practice and he was not happy that it was doing good. Ying and Yang get it? Steve Barret was not feeling good that night. But you would not know that as the way he was driving. After a few weeks of having a bad car he was running for the win. But he could not hold onto it. Al Stone III and Chris Meyer went head to head for first but Al Stone III took the win.

All in all it was a good night. The rain may have spooked the fans and drivers away but the stands did look 1/3 full and not 1/6 full like a few years ago. And the SK numbers did grow over time. It will be interesting to see what will happen this week as the bowl has the W&W. They will have to go head to head with NHMS with the WMT and the ACT. I know I will be at the bowl but will you?
