Oh the good ole days,fist fights and group fights,police escorts out of the track.... That was some good stuff,but that was then this is now. Times are different,cant compare 20 years ago to today. it is night and day different. Well the penalties at least. Alot of the same stuff but today they dont want to see it happen. i could only imagine the posts if they was to give him another chance and something really bad happend. Racing is dangerous enough without any of the hot head antics. I love rubing,bumping and banging It's why people go to the races,but i dont like to see a car just drive threw another car,thats how people get hurt. It dont take much,Keith got a dislocated shoulder and he barely even got hit. Why take the risk for 1 bad apple?

What I wonder is if they are watching him closer do they also do that for the other two racers that did pretty much the same as he did since then??? You never hear about it, it's all but forgotten with the other two. Nothing came of it most likely because the guy that got hit didn't make a huge issue out of it and neither did the race directors of that time.

What he did was stupid but no less or more stupid then the other two.

Not realy sure of the other 2 inncodents you speak of,but with ray this just seems like a common occurance. Like i said fair or unfair in the way the track has delt with ray,he has been givein chance after chance with no sign of change. Cant really say the track is out to get him due to the fact they lifted the ban and allowed him the chance to redeem himself. I think they made the right decsion here. Hey if he mans up and has a profesional converstion with mr tapely and he decides to let him back in,i got no problem with that. I hear he is very pleasent person to talk to,but it's a different person soon as they put the helmet on. All the guy needs to do is drive with a little more respect,not only for fellow competiters but respect for the sport as a whole,and the track that gave him the chance to begin with.

ok hes some ray first time he got parked
2nd time 4 weeks off
3rd time out for the rest of the year
so that mean that any one who does it for the 2nd time gets 4 weeks off
3rd time rest of the year
the one with the 59 and ray was raceing 59 didnt go on the startray pushed him that raceing i have done it and had it done to me just cause the 59 could not hold it not ray problem

I believe there were also issues in the pits (verbal and/or physical with a track official/other racer) after the on track incident (parking car under flag stand and the verbal explosion that followed) that contributed to the 4 week vacation.

I have talked to Ray. He seemed nice enough in person. He has a fast car, and can drive it fast. He does, however, have a problem with not knowing the difference between rubbing/racing, and flatout junking someone.
I often tell people that with the close quarters and fast competition at Waterford, that contact is inevitable..... it's "the nature of the beast".
Ray has repeatedly had unnecessary and hard contact with other cars in the past, and this year.
Ray has told people he has been under the proverbial microscope this year and is being treated unfairly. I say that with his past actions, he deserved to be under the microscope.
He failed to shake that scrutiny by his own ontrack actions.

Im with ya steve,kinda like what i said only with different words. People like myself can blurt out opinions all day long. You however race with the guy so i would say your opinion says alot,given the fact that your out there and i have yet to see you make any unjust negitive comment toward anyone or anything.

Ps i think i found your shop,i was on way to foxwoods and saw a red street stock looking car. Couldn't see # but looked like your car...... I was like hey that look familiar.....

I must say you all make very good points and everyone is entitled to there own opinions. I do see where most of you are coming from. I do truly believe the track has done a much better job with making calls (thanks to the new RD) this year then any other. I guess I just feel what Ray did over 10 years ago should not be used against him. He did his punishment however like I said I do see where they are coming from. I did not see the actually head on collision over 10 years ago. From the sounds of it is sounds like he went full throttle high speed head on collision under caution. I honestly don't know but that is what everyone seems to make it sound like. However if it wasn't a serious full throttle then I think anyone who makes any contact under caution should get the same and then always have it held against them. Let me say again I did not see that actual wreck 10 years ago so maybe that is why I have a different opinion then most of you.

now i know it was a different race director, but the 67 late model drove in to the 5 lm door same **** as ray. I seen both accidents how come no one is looking at him like they do ray. Just saying it should be the same for all. Lots of other drivers have done it so that should not be the reason why they look at him so close. If it was cause he is ******* out of the car and he likes to fight the that's different.
