Waterford Speedbowl 8/29 Old School Enduro Results

Waterford, CT (August 29, 2010) – Waterford Speedbowl was in action Sunday evening hosting a night of Old School Enduros, Burnout Contest and Motorcycle Stunt man Luke Duke Emmons. The winner of each Enduro pocketed $1,000 for their efforts.

John Yagmin of Tolland won the 100-lap 8-cylinder Enduro, first outdueling James Consalvo of East Hartford then held on to top Danny Figueiredo of Wethersfield over the final laps. Consalvo was a factor for much of the event, racing Yagmin for the lead over a lengthy portion of the race.

Consalvo dropped off the pace at a lap 85 red flag however, leaving a shootout between Yagmin and Figueiredo. Yagmin’s margin of victory was just five car lengths at the conclusion.

Al Stone III of New Haven crossed the stripe appearing to be the winner in the 100-lap 4-cylinder Enduro race. Stone persevered through several bouts of mayhem, coming out on top of a battle on the track with Dan D’addario of Columbia and Brad Voglesong of Middletown that lasted much of the race.

In the end, both D’addario and Voglesong dropped out leaving first-timer racer Chad Navin chasing Stone to the checkered flag. Stone failed post-race inspection, handing the win to Navin, from Middletown. Westerly’s Robert Kilpatrick, another first-timer competitor, moved up to finish second.

Justin Lawhead of Lisbon was crowned as the winner of the Burnout contest by the crowd, roasting the tires on his entry to the delight of the fans.

Luke Duke Emmons entertained with a display of motorcycle stunts prior to the Enduros.
