Well, with the lousy sound system, where I sit you couldn't hear the times or anything else much and with the score board down half the time,we didn't know what was going on till each group was over. And it wasn't just me everyone around me was saying the same thing. Don't get me wrong I love the Bowl.I been going there since 51 when it opened, but a bad show is a bad show. One idea is the announcers should be more aware of the limitations of the sound system and talk louder ,clearer and not when the cars are on the front stetch.

I did not mind the Time Trials. What ticked me off was the people around me constantly b******g and complaining how much this sucked. The one thing I hate is people repeating them self's over and over how much they hated the Time Trials. How it cheated the fans, How it was boring. I almost hear the same thing when I'm working outside. They said it all year long on the schedule (All Division Time Trial) Come later when they start racing or don't come at all. I come to the bowl to relax and kick back my feet not hear someone complain for two and a half hours how much this sucks. I'm not trying to fight with anyone here I'm just getting this off my chest :P

And I believe they will be doing one more Time Trial this year. The 150 is supposed to be a Time Trial I believe. And about this Saturday it sounds kind of cool, two 100 Lap Enduro races. For 10$ or 9.99$ Like I really need that penny back  But I don't know if I'm going to go. I don't want to show up and find out that their is only 10 cars in each race. Can someone help with that. Post an entry list or on Saturday post here and say how many cars are at the track for the race? Well anyway let's just hope that the summer heat cools down right? Today sucked

My vote on a capital improvement would be a new or at least better sound system. :)

Sid,

the tt line up was determined by a draw. if it were up to each competitor, they would all go last. first out usually sucks.

I know the order was determined via draw, and I'm not suggesting the competitors determine when they'd time trial, obviously they'd all pick last. They could have easily done the order by reverse order in the points to make it a little more entertaining... well, as entertaining as time trials can be.

agree 100% the sound system has been and still is 1 of the biggest problems. Dont know much about arena systems but based on common occurances they could probably get away with a decent used speaker upgrade and re-wiring. The actual head unit seems to work because it will either come in crystal clear, very low or cut it and out. Sounds like bad speakers and wiring shorts to me. Dont need a mack daddy system like stafford just something that functions properly will be a huge improvement.
Gotta say though even some of the shows have been on the not so great level and several issues i have had on a personal level that i wont get into detail on, I do see that the effort is there. They know they have issues and really seem to be working on things. Some changes work and some dont. I still feel that while it may be still be a cluster mess if they can weather this economic storm and keep up the effort level there will be a better bowl for the future. The better they do with nothing, more and more sponsors will jump on board. Moving forward slowly is better than not moving at all.

as someone who works in the industry for my "real" job, even re-wiring and installing used speakers can be pricey, so as much as I hate the faults of the sound system, I understand what it is. I've seen the guts of that system, and considering what they have, it actually works pretty good. Just because the 300 wasn't a great show doesn't mean it's time to fire up the bus. Like LuvTheMods stated, the effort has been there to improve the place in many aspects since the new BOD took over. One week that we thought coulda been better doesn't mean everything's a disaster. It's just one week...

Hey Sid just a question for your knowledge in this area. Is that any way to broadcast threw the P.A threw the radio station and by-pass the actual system? I notice when i listen in my truck during delays and other not so interesting times it comes through perfect. Possible or would still have to go threw the system? Yea it dont matter what track you go to your gonna have lousy shows but i kinda think that next years 300 will have a re-draw. A big part of the battle is seeing a event fail and not doing it again. Live and Learn. Something works ride the wave,if not try a different boat
