"Waterford Speedbowl caution policy raises questions" This story was in the bulletin. To read it you would think that the speedbowl was sanctioning the isma race. If you were a reporter wouldn't you try to get the full story and maybe talk to the isma officials to see why they have that restart rule? I bet that reporter has no clue that visiting race series have there own officials.

Marc Allard must be new to the game.

but I agree. I don't like how 4 or 6 lap down cars can be behind the lead car and 2nd is right behind them. It's not fair, lap down traffic should be sent to the back of the field. I want to see drivers running for the win. Not someone dominating the race and winning by a half a track because half of the field blocked 2nd place after a restart. It's why I don't like the ACT to much.

Why is it unfair? If you're hauling and pass lap cars you should have those cars as a buffer from other drivers in the field. If you are that good that day you should be rewarded for your hard work and they (the rest of the field) shouLd have to go around those guys like you had to. I like how waterford does it but either way works for both

It is not a Waterford thing. The ISMA has that rule and is enforced by their own officiating. They do that at all tracks they run.

Personally, I like the idea of lining everyone up in their running order with lap traffic to the rear. Cars will yield for the leader a lot easier than 2nd on back(especially those multiple laps down), during the green flag runs. I like the idea of the second place guy getting a chance at the leader after a caution. It may be more "fair" to line them up like the ISMA and ACT does, but that is the wildcard brought on by a caution(in my opinion).

I'll add something to the mix.

The leader doesnt know who is behind him, they dont run radios. On the restart he has to run full tilt to keep everyone behind him. No mirrors so he doesnt know how far back the next car is either.

I'd still like to see double file restarts if you're going to keep lap cars in the mix.

I think they should just invert the field every time the caution comes out. Cars running when the caution come out get inverted. The last place guy, two laps down becomes the leader and he is now 2 laps up on the lead lap cars all the way on back, um front.

This would work. I might actually watch them if this was the case.

He was doing a good job earlier this year. Now the stories are getting sloppy. Lots of facts that are not correct or he just doesn't know any better on some things.

Shawn C, while I didn't agree with everything in his blog that was an opinion. When the facts got laid out in print it was 99.9% or more accurate every time.

Did anyone, besides me, call the reporter and let him know? I know I called when I first saw the headline, but never bothered to look for the correction being printed. Why in the World are you guys dragging this out??????????????? :? :? :?
