I think Terry and Tom and their entire staff did an incredible job to have the race track ready for practice on Friday. I know I was there for the 7 days prior. what happened? I'll cover the MAJOR points

Saturday concrete was still being poured
Sunday the forms were removed and the new paved pit food stand was brought in
Monday pouring rain-work continues back filling the wall, spotters stand is finished
Tuesday more rain finish back filling the wall, hang the banners on backstretch under the moon light
Wednesday start pumping water from the infield, start cleaning the track surface
Thursday paint the pit parking lot, paint the concrete walls, attach the armco back to the concrete walls, power wash the track surface to get the mud off from construction (this continued until 2:30am Friday (the names of those 5 will remain secret)), run the compactor/roller in the dirt pits to pack the surface, haul the 30+ sections of old armco off the track, put the chain link fence up.

add in too many trips to home depot, and every day ECI was there and this was a monumental task. I get accused of being a cheerleader, but I had my doubts it would get done.

Monday's here and 240+ race teams had a place to play this weekend. the glass was half full.

Couldnt agree more. If anyone thought the weekend would go off without any glitches they were living in fantasy land. Was alot less glitches than i actualy exxpected. I knew there would be concession issues so i brought my own goodies, took that glitch outa the equasion myself. They did a very good job in makin sure the event took place. The 2 bigest problems was the temperature and mud. Not much they can do about that. They prob coulda pumped more outa the turns but i am pretty sure time was a factor there. Its gotta be hard to clean up water and mud when its only 40 degrees out. I will pat em on the back cause ya know what bottom line is Terry could just say screw this and throw in the towel, but instead he and the whole crew is bustin butts to keep 60 years of historical racein alive. Warmer days are coming which will aide in the improvents big time.

The bowl will always be the bowl and i kinda like the bowl. See yahs next sat nite

Well besides the food, yes I have to agree with shadow. To even have been able to get everything finished in time was awesome. I'm sure some of you guys heard that Friday night the water lines that feed the restrooms and concession stands froze. The crew was definitely working their butts off to get the water flowing again. So I say good job to everyone that helped get the show going. :P
