So this week so much happened I'll try to run down the list and remember much as I can.

The day started off warm. A very good sine, I pushed for the past week for my uncle to come with me this week. He broke down and said yes. We got to the track just as the Mini's took the first heat race. Poor Ben Bargnesi and Louie Bellisle they crashed on the checked flag going for first. All in all i think Louie won that heat race lol. After the mini's the trucks came out. Kind of disapointed about the car counts. But I'm still going to give them another year. SK heats was alright a surprising victory from Rookie Kyle James. The returning for full time (let's hope) Diego Monahan took the 2nd heat win. And another rookie surprising victory to the 5 of Mark Bakaj.

The first race was the Mini Stocks and just like last week Danny Field took the lead and never looked back. I think it's going to be hard for all the Mini Stock drivers to try and stop the 3 time champ.

The SK's came out next, Kyle James and Bakaj showed that with time they could win a race in no time. Joey Gada was strong in the top ten for some time. So many drivers out did them self's and the race was just fantastic. Sure their was crashes and spin outs but what surprised me the most is that no one spun into the mud/grass and kicked up a bunch of stuff on the track good job guys!. But once Keith Rocco took the lead he stormed out like he had a rocket fueled jet engine. Justin Gaydosh finished 2nd doing the 2 wide block. That ticked a lot of people off on the track as I was told. But yet still a good finish. Rob Janovic Jr finshed out 3rd. But the only thing that surprised me was the no show from Dennis Gada. Oh well let's hope for next week? Also if you all did not know Rocco's Moter blew poor dood but at lest the high moment was that he won the race.

When the Street Stock's came out I was in Victory lane with Rocco so I missed almost all the action. Poor Josh Galvin he was leading most of the race in till his car died, Ronnie Oldham took the lead and won the race good for him. Steve Barret finshed 2nd as Walter Hovey finished 3rd.

The trucks was next, and if I'm wrong but last year did they not have the MRS rule. If you win the race next week you start dead last? I wish they still had that 10 trucks started and with Allen Coates being so dominated on that track starting 5th (I think) it did not take him long to take the lead. Also what I did not like was that how can a field with 10 trucks go 25 Laps and a field with 19 Legends cars can go 20 laps. I'm all for the trucks, Mini and Street's going 25 each, but whats with the no love for the Legends?

Legends cars came out next. No Jason Palmer, Max Zachem or Ryan Morgan. So the fight for the win could have been for anyone. What a show they put on. Nice and fun, Gio Giarratana took the win 2nd was Tom Gray and 3rd was Alessandro Vitelli. I just wish they would do 25 Laps.

Well as we come to an end with this I would like to thank the Speedbowl staff and all the volunteers who helped made this race weekend possible. The bowl turned into a lake and they did a good job turning the lake into a race track once more. The crowed was a normal size for this type of weather glad to see people still coming out. Well thanks for reading and Happy Easter everyone.

From what I've heard, Dennis Gada is only running a handful of races this year. Wonder how come blogger boy wasn't all over this?

Yeah, I was gonna say that, lol.

BS call on Ray Christian in the mini's. Got DQ's for running too small of an air cleaner. He was runnin a 6 1/2" cleaner, and the rules say a 12-14" one. Dunno how you can throw someone out for using something that will be at a huge disadvantage for them.

Mark Bakaj may have been good at Stafford, but with new tracks come new driving skills. To me this is his first year at Waterford with an SK so to me he is a rookie. It's almost like saying Kyle James is not a rookie because he has been in a mini stock for so long. You can not say someone is not a rookie because he did good at another track and then came to a new one.

sorry you feel that way Matt. it's in the rule book, and was enforced a week earlier at the opener. he was also told during the week to change it.

Yeah but last weeks car had one that was a 1/4" bigger, that's understandable. Throwing someone out for running too small of an AC is like if someone won an SK race on 185 width street tires, haha.

Kyle is considered a rookie cause it's his first full year in an SK.

You call someone a rookie if they're in a completely different car, no matter the track.

This is Mark's second year in an SK car, which shares the same rules throughout the whole northeast, so it's not like they're a novice.

This would be like if someone ran every single cup race in 2009, aside from the road courses, and having them run rook stripes at the road courses in 2010.

Don't forget he also ran the SK Lite division at Stafford. Basically same car less motor.

Yeah, no way Bakaj's a rookie - just like Corey Hutchings wasn't last year after competing at Stafford in '08, or Rocco when he started at the 'bowl in the Pane's #57 in 2008 after racing at SMS and TIS in the years prior. Nor should Norm Sears be one in the Streets after years in the Dares & Limited LM at SMS. On the other hand, I believe Phil Evans is one in the SS as he only has 3 finishes listed (at least in the jp.com archive results from 2009) and Joe Gada only ran the Finale in the SK's last year. Kyle James absolutely a SK rookie, same for Palmer in the LM's.

Gada definitely only running a handful of races - he only ran last year because Harry Wyant came back as car owner. Harry back into retirement, Dennis only limited - which is wierd. I told him on Saturday it was a lil' surreal not seeing him in his firesuit on raceday.

And big time props to the track crew for getting the track race ready - turn 1 wasn't great, but considering what they had to overcome, they did a fantastic job!!
