Well let's start by saying It was by far the hottest weekend all year.
Saving what money I have left in my pocket (And piggy bank

) I took a trip up to Stafford alone. No one wanted to go. I don't blame them. Seeing how hot it was outside. My AC could barley keep up with the 103 temperature outside. It was a good racing night. After the sun went down it was not that bad outside. The heat sure did scare away the fans. The place was packed but their were ALOT of open seats.
The only thing I did not like was the car count. If I'm not mistaken 30 cars were allowed to race? 25 showed up. 2 crashed in a heat race so that means 23 started the race. I would have thought that to fill up the filed they would have allowed the SKL to race. Oh well next year right?
It was nice seeing Pitkat, Preece, Frank. R, try and get up to Rocco but once he took the lead there was no stopping him. It was also nice to see Mark Bakja, Nichole Morgillo and Joe Gada. I guess not seeing Joe at the Bowl the next night at the Bowl tells me he is going to stay at Stafford?
The next time I'm going back to Stafford for the last time this year is August 5th for the WMT 150. I'm not even going to post to see if anyone wants to carpool.
Now I got to the Speedbowl a little bit late thanks to work. It's always a party when You get to say "HI" to everyone in the stands the drivers and the crews. And the place was packed. It was not as hot as Friday but the sun did cook me.
When I was getting some Ice-cream did I hear wrong? Or is Is Mr Animal "Steve Barret" him self re-inlisted? That's cool to hear, I wish all the luck to him. And I hope he does not forget about the bowl and comes back when he has the free time!
Late Models were down this week. It might had to do with the Oxford 250. Or some drivers are saving there cars for the two 50 Lap races coming vary soon. But it should be interesting to see what the two 50 Lap races will bring for talent.
After having a bad week last week Ken Cassidy Jr. took the win over the now 58 year old last week winner Nick Pappacoda.
Phil Evans got caught with the 1 Lap penalty for stopping his car and forcing a caution to come out. And you know what I think about this new rule? I think It's to harsh, It just might make some drives stay away from the bowl or compete full time. If you want to stop drivers from forcing the caution to come out then give them strikes. The first time they do it wave a flag how about pink? And over the year if they reach the 4th time they forced the caution to come out that's it. They wasted all three strikes and the 4th strike you are getting 1 lap down. I think it would be fare for all the full time competitors and the drivers who would only make a few stops at the bowl. What the bowl does not need is a sudden shrink of car count.
I remember last year when the SS had over 20 cars each week. Now they struggle to get 10 cars just to show. They did produce a good race but the number need to pick up. Something is wrong when Thompson and Stafford has over 20 a week and the bowl can barely get 10.
The SK race was awesome! Everyone is trying to stop Rocco and slowly they are making gain. Justin Gaydosh made a comeback this week. He is far behind the game but he made a strong run. Dennis Gada Made a good start and finish this week doing a part time ride this year. It would be nice to see him do a full season once more. And ware did Tyler Chadwick come from with a few laps to go? Last Time I seen him he was far back in the filed and then out of no ware he makes a strong come back to 5th.
And last was the trucks. And what a disappointment that race was. It was an alright race but with only 10 trucks racing in a 50 lap race you would have thought it would bring out a decent number. And the only thing that saved the race was the invert. And for now on if the Speedbowl does have a 50 Lap race like the two LM races coming up and the numbers are not high I give my blessing to invert the filed half way.
All in all it was a good weekend. See you all next week!
Also if someone can help me. Are the NEMA's doing 37 Laps like it says on the front page and 2011 schedule. Or are they just doing 27 Laps like it says in the Event Schedule. I hope the bowl can straighten this out.
