Hmm, after lookin' at a lot of old ASA pictures today, I was wondering, if someone built an old Camaro body to fit an ACT chassis, would it be allowed to run?

It would have to be brought to ACT officials for approval. Rule from their website "Any variations need tech approval and may carry penalties"
Several problems, some very $costly$ with that idea tho. First, where do you find rubber nose and tail pieces for that style body?
You can't mix body styles "No mixing and matching of body panels"

Another problem is the aero. No way that body would create the downforce or be as slick as the newer bodies.

Performance Bodies carries the noses and tails.

I dunno, it might be close for downforce. The botom of those noses stick out pretty good. The flat right side would give it decent sideforce as well.

I dunno, I'm just biased cause I think those cars were the best looking stockcars to ever race.

I agree. Awesome looking cars. I have a Mark Martin ASA diecast car around here somewhere.

Didn't Tom Metcalf have a white #8 camaro a few years back? I don't think it was act but it looked pretty sweet.

You would have to check the ACT rule book that is the rules the division adopted... i do believe for chevrolet your model choices are the monte carlo ss or impala ss... dont quote me on this

I wonder if with Lee usa speedway dropping the Late models for 2011 will perhaps maybe help draw in some new cars? Teams still will have options such as oxford plains and seekonk but you would think they would consider the bowl as an option as well. Would be nice to a decent turn out for the late models.

Better hope the speedbowl gets some late models from somewhere. The roster is looking pretty sad and now with Timmy Jordan gone....

dont forget, you'll still have Jeff Smith, Jeff Paul, Jason Palmer, Anthony Flannery, Vin Esposito, Joe Curioso, Brian Andronaco and others returning. I'll take a field of 12 cars with 8 that could win on any given night vs. 22 cars and 3 guys dominate all year.

I'd definitely take the 22 car field. One big wreck with the current number of cars cuts it down to a 6 car total race.
