It seems kind of dead here. Let's get a conversation going here people.
First off I have to give big props for the Bowl team. This year has been a very big smash hit. Grate racing and grate mood. Sure we have crews yelling at each other but that is to be expected. Helping a race fan by cutting prices on a ticket. Sucking out lake speedbowl before practice starts. It has been just a big wonderful year.
Now onto things that we can talk about.
Will Timmy, Jeff and Rich go to NH for the ACT race? From Shawn's blog It looks like Timmy will now be taking the trip up north. But who knows he might change his mind. Jeff is in the same boat with Timmy. He would like to go but money is the issue. But it looks like Rich is going and that's cool to hear. I know I'll be rooting for all of them when I go up to NH.
I know we went over this but still an idea for a all Stock Car Late Model event could be a good idea. I know not many people showed up but I think one of the reasons why is because of money. The week fallowing up to the ACT Nutmeg 100 was Wing N Wheel. Going from a 30$ event then next week to a 25$ is heavy for some family's. Something the bowl can work on for the 2011 Schedule is spacing out the big pricey events. Have one week a regular show then next week a big event then that week a regular show then that fallowing week a big event. And so on and so on.
For 2011 how does 6 features sound to you all instead of 5 for a regular event? One week the Bowl would have SK, LM, TK, SS, MS and LC. Then next week SK, LM, SS, MS, LC and X-Cars. It would be nice change of pace for next year. It might bring in more fan's and it could help promote new divisions, Tours and the WnWW.
Now I have some questions for you all. That you could help me. When ISMA comes to the bowl for the 50 lap race. Why not go 75 or 100 Laps? Does it cost more to have them go more laps?
Speaking about ISMA can we find a way for next year when we have the Wing N Wheels that ISMA does not race at Lee and then stops at Waterford. It has to be a killer on car counts. Meaning if someone crashed at Lee and was planning on showing up at the Bowl then they can't seeing how they have a broken race car. Less car counts just cheats out the fan who pay to see the show. That's just my 2 cents.
Should we talk about the Trucks now? It's still a growing deviation. But avg 10 trucks per week is not stellar turn out. To get more Trucks for one night why not try and corporate with "NETS" An extra 3 or 5 trucks could make one race fantastic.
Here is an idea for Sid's Web show. Put a helmet cam on and have him walk around the pit's Letting us see what he sees.
Anyone went to see the 4 and 8 cylinder Enduros? Right after the Nationwide race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. (If you did not see that race then you missed out on one heck of a event. That is my Daytona for Nationwide.) I drove to the track. I got to it just as they finished the burn out contest. Then we had the bike show. Not bad it was entertaining. But the thing that feared me the most was the car count. And boy was it low. 10 to 14 cars for each 100 lap race. by lap 75 half was eliminated. I think it would have been a disaster if the Bowl team did not change it up a-bit. Turning around every 25 laps. Putting tires out in the open and water on the track. It made the event some what entertaining. I would not mind seeing this next year. It does not deserve at Saturday spot light a Sunday yes.
Anyone been to the Show N Go? Not bad for a free event.
Well that's all I can think of if you guys or girls have anything to comment on or speak then please do.
