It seems kind of dead here. Let's get a conversation going here people.

First off I have to give big props for the Bowl team. This year has been a very big smash hit. Grate racing and grate mood. Sure we have crews yelling at each other but that is to be expected. Helping a race fan by cutting prices on a ticket. Sucking out lake speedbowl before practice starts. It has been just a big wonderful year.

Now onto things that we can talk about.

Will Timmy, Jeff and Rich go to NH for the ACT race? From Shawn's blog It looks like Timmy will now be taking the trip up north. But who knows he might change his mind. Jeff is in the same boat with Timmy. He would like to go but money is the issue. But it looks like Rich is going and that's cool to hear. I know I'll be rooting for all of them when I go up to NH.

I know we went over this but still an idea for a all Stock Car Late Model event could be a good idea. I know not many people showed up but I think one of the reasons why is because of money. The week fallowing up to the ACT Nutmeg 100 was Wing N Wheel. Going from a 30$ event then next week to a 25$ is heavy for some family's. Something the bowl can work on for the 2011 Schedule is spacing out the big pricey events. Have one week a regular show then next week a big event then that week a regular show then that fallowing week a big event. And so on and so on.

For 2011 how does 6 features sound to you all instead of 5 for a regular event? One week the Bowl would have SK, LM, TK, SS, MS and LC. Then next week SK, LM, SS, MS, LC and X-Cars. It would be nice change of pace for next year. It might bring in more fan's and it could help promote new divisions, Tours and the WnWW.

Now I have some questions for you all. That you could help me. When ISMA comes to the bowl for the 50 lap race. Why not go 75 or 100 Laps? Does it cost more to have them go more laps?

Speaking about ISMA can we find a way for next year when we have the Wing N Wheels that ISMA does not race at Lee and then stops at Waterford. It has to be a killer on car counts. Meaning if someone crashed at Lee and was planning on showing up at the Bowl then they can't seeing how they have a broken race car. Less car counts just cheats out the fan who pay to see the show. That's just my 2 cents.

Should we talk about the Trucks now? It's still a growing deviation. But avg 10 trucks per week is not stellar turn out. To get more Trucks for one night why not try and corporate with "NETS" An extra 3 or 5 trucks could make one race fantastic.

Here is an idea for Sid's Web show. Put a helmet cam on and have him walk around the pit's Letting us see what he sees.

Anyone went to see the 4 and 8 cylinder Enduros? Right after the Nationwide race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. (If you did not see that race then you missed out on one heck of a event. That is my Daytona for Nationwide.) I drove to the track. I got to it just as they finished the burn out contest. Then we had the bike show. Not bad it was entertaining. But the thing that feared me the most was the car count. And boy was it low. 10 to 14 cars for each 100 lap race. by lap 75 half was eliminated. I think it would have been a disaster if the Bowl team did not change it up a-bit. Turning around every 25 laps. Putting tires out in the open and water on the track. It made the event some what entertaining. I would not mind seeing this next year. It does not deserve at Saturday spot light a Sunday yes.

Anyone been to the Show N Go? Not bad for a free event.

Well that's all I can think of if you guys or girls have anything to comment on or speak then please do.

I agree with you that the schedule got stacked kindof wrong. The extra money at the gate events continue this week. I remember NEMA having no upcharge for years and I figured they got enough people in both gates to cover their own purse? :?

2011 divisions? Never more than five. If Nema comes and they have nema lites give the LM's or whatever the 2010 division with the lowest car count is the night off. They've jammed multipul divisions in nights and when someone gets shorted it's the weekly competitors. I've never seen the positive in the guys that pay the bills getting the short end (like being told there is no time for a SK scuff session while the Nemas and Nema lites get another full round of practice after it rains)

Open the gates a hour later, 5 divisions and maybe even push the feature times back a hour. Saturday night racing should be under the lights, not in day light IMO.

I think extra distances brings up fuel problems for the supers. The fuel they burn takes something like 1.5 to 1 to get the same power as a standard fuel. Remember the first show this year with some cautions? They all stopped under one caution to refuel for just a 50 lapper. They base their laps on the size of the track.

They double up on shows to cut down on travel. Alot of teams are based in Canada and Ohio so hitting two tracks in one weekend cuts travle expenses for them. They do it for 6 events.

I checked the schedule on the ISMA web site the only time they double up like that is for the same track. http://www.ismasupers.com/schedule.html

And about the NEMA extra 6$ charge at the front gate. I'm going to let it slide, They have two races at the same time and what it says on the schedule they are going 35 Laps. And the NEMA lights are going 25. So That's 60 Laps in all and more laps and cheaper then the ISMA show lol. Not that I'm dissing the ISMA I love them and like them.

Just some quick thoughts:

ISMA races are fine @ 50 laps for me at the 'bowl. Could you imagine the May show they ran going 75 laps or more?? YIKES! I wanna say most of their races are 50 laps for reasons Warren stated.

Admittedly I'm not a big fan of the NEMA, but regardless, if you're talking the most bang for your buck, you can't compare 50 laps of ISMA to 60 of NEMA, 25 of which are NEMA Lites... no comparison IMO.

Trucks - NETS idea... oh man, that's a good one. Let's just say there's a reason why the Speedbowl has it's own truck division now and no longer hosts NETS events and I'll just leave it at that. But I believe NETS trucks are legal to run at the 'bowl if they want too, there's just a divide there amongst the competitors as to where they choose to run... at least that was the case a while back. Things may have changed but I'm not betting on any cross-promotion between the two...

5 divisions per event is good with me as is... but I'd like to see more qualifying races. Seems like there's almost this rotation of divisions getting weeks off from qualifying heats. Not fond of that at all...

The big shows were all stacked up in August this year - hope that was an exception, not the new rule

I would like to see the LM's run every week again - they put on a better show than the Trucks (save the big finish a few weeks ago) and Legends and even have different people win more often... woops, did I say that.

Never been to a Show N' Go, but here that's blossomed since it's initial events

I was a big fan of Old School Enduros coming back, but wasn't able to make the event. When I heard of the car counts, I wondered if the days of Enduros is gone.... 26 cars b/w two events! Yikes!! Sounds like the track incorporated some elements to keep the show entertaining, but wonder how often will see these again.

I'd just like to see a bigger car count between the minis and streets. Bring em back up to 25/30 every week, would be excellent.

As a race fan I love long distance races. That's why I had the question for ISMA. But 50 Laps does sound good. But how does 55 sound. :P

And If I had to take NEMA over ISMA. I might have to go with NEMA. Not saying ISMA does not put on a good show, they put on a fun show. It just has to be what you like most.

About the Trucks, This might have been talked about on JP.com along time ago but I must have forgotten what the hole fuss was about NETS and Speedbowl thing was about. I like the trucks I just want to see a stronger and bigger field, that's all.

Also about some divisions getting the week off from heats that also bugs me. I can see when a big tour comes by and they want to make sure they have spare time. But on a regular night that should be a big no,no.

See you all tomorrow night.

Oh Hey Sid Is that Helmet idea going to happen?
