Looks like blogger boy fell asleep. Or since it has nothing to do with CT he might not have posted it. But anyway here is the K&N pro east 2011 schedule. For the first time in a long time no race will be held in CT. What a shame for a dieing breed. Looks like the Mod's are true kings in CT.

Sat., March 26 Greenville Pickens Speedway
Sat., April 16 South Boston Speedway
Thu., April 28 Richmond International Raceway
Sat., May 21 Iowa Speedway
Sat., June 4 Bowman Gray Stadium
Sat., June 11 Gresham Motorsports Park
Sat., June 18 Langley Speedway
Fri., July 15 New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Sat., July 23 Columbus Motor Speedway
Mon., Sept. 5 Greenville Pickens Speedway
Fri., Sept. 23 New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Fri., Sept. 30 Dover International Speedway

12 races this year 2 more then this year. 5 stops at big name NASCAR tracks. 7 at loco NASCAR short tracks. Is it me or does this look like more of a North/East South/East In the Middle of the U.S. Tour next year?

:?

Modifieds have always been Kings of the racing scene in the Northeast for about 50 years or - the NASCAR North/Busch North/Busch East/CWE/K&NE series has never even made a dent in that realm IMO. That's why this region is called Modified Country!

I, quite frankly, could care less about this series and that was always the case - my only previous interest was Kobyluck and that was only because he came from the Speedbowl Late Model division and I'm the resident Speedbowl history guru. Now that he's out, what little interest I had in following it is gone.

As for Blogger Boy falling asleep??? What's there to cover with the CT driver and CT tracks now gone from the series?? He's not just a racing reporter, he has other responsibilities at the Courant, like UConn Football team who happen to be having the best season in school history right now, so I'm sure he's got better things to cover than a NASCAR tour that has no drivers or events in CT and didn't really draw crowds when they did if I'm not mistaken...

As for Phil Smith - just for the record, Champ Trail is not a blog, it's a column... and there is a difference. Not sure what to make of all of it - I think this is the 5th or 6th year in a row that the foreclosure drama has come up during the off-season, so I barely get excited about anyone's column these days... we'll see what happens in court on the 16th. Smith just reiteratted what was a matter of public record, but with no comments from the parties involved, I'll stay with my wait n' see approach.

I'm not sure about the modified country saying still....and I'm really not sure that Grand National North/BGNN series didn't make a huge dent. It was the place to see all those good LM guys from the north race. It was a division that was a step to greater things for many people, it was a place you could see Aube, McCabe, Dave Dion and many other top of the line REALLY REALLY good racecar drivers race. It was a place that the Rondeau's and Fox's should have been in with the right deal and funding and the place most "over the hill" guys raced.

The shows of the 90's and into the 2000's were great shows. They raced in front of good crowds. Then Nascar was sure to change it's direction and make it some feeder series with a bunch of cup teams having drivers in the seats based off many other things except talent for the most part. Then they sent them on a wacky sched and doomed the series that it used to be.

Saddest part is the older BGNN series had alot more guys move onto greater things then this new developing series will ever see.

I have to share the same opinion as Sid here. New England is modified country, always has been always will be. Some say no tour race at martinsville is a shame, well i say a tour race with only 500 peeps in the house is the shame. Yea its a famous track, yea it has tradition but why have teams from up north trek 14 hrs to a track when there is very little support for them being there? take all the northern teams out of north-south shootout and what do you have?

Who cares about K&M? that series died a long time ago imo.

As for the crack about sean dropping the ball? Come on dude? He does a heck of a job coverin almost every thing we ct race fans want to know. He is a sports reporter for the courant. He does the blog because he himself is a fan and when anything newsworthy pops up i am quite sure he will be all over it.

As for the forclosure talk hey it is what it is and will continue to be until it is settled once and for all, regardless of which way the end result is. They can secure a 2011 season threw laywers and courst or how ever it happens, but we will be right back where we are now next year again. Lets just enjoy the ride and see where it leads.

Have a happy hoildays everyone

I guess no one can take a joke. When I made that comment it was to be a little giggle or a little ha-ha. I know he is busy with work but if we can't poke at each other then I'm sorry if what I said hurt anyone feelings or if it seemed I went over-bored with a lame joke.

And note since the tour has no dates in CT he could probably not have posted it anyway. It's like him talking about the West or Canada series. "Out Of State Out Of Mind."

I thought I'd clear this up before it got out of hand, once more if I went over-bored sorry.

Hey there Paul just an observation but it seems you have a tendency to say things that appear to be your true thoughts and then when people jump on you, you say your joking. So people may automaticly think your being serious. Yes i thought you were taking a shot at him for lack of reporting but if you joking its all good dude. Here's a thought though when your sayng something in a joking manor, just let it be known with a laughing face icon,or simply just put j/k which stands for just kidding. It can be difficult to determine emotion when there is no face to face or voice to interperate off of. Just some freindly advice from one who has been misunderstood in some things i have typed as well. i seriously doubt anybody will have a problem if they know your trying to add some humor. But if people feel your takin real shots they may get a lil jumpy them selves. Im not sure of your age but alot of us here have been ct race fans since before you were even born prolly. So when you say looks like the mods may be just a ct or new england division, people will be like gee ya think? your just now figuring that out. Not jumpin on ya dude,I just notice this happens alot with you so just maybe think a lil before you say something. Everybody is struggling now so i t dont take much to push a wrong button even if was meant as a joke.

On a different note...... Anyone know why all the late models are up for sale??
I see the 47, 35 & the 5 all good cars.
I didn't make the rules meeting, but was thinking of getting a late model to run the Bowl and ACT. Not so sure now. Anyone have any info???

Thanks for the Info LuvtheMods. Next time I'll make it clear that I'm making a joke. I'm just not used to putting down a LOL or a JK in a forum but now I know and I'll try my best for now on. In my line of work we bust each others b**l's all the time. So I like to make some kind of joke here every now and then, it just seems to never go well half the time. Everyone just needs to relax a little bit more. Not everyone can be a master writer in English and make a grate joke, heck I know I'm not LOL. It is true that I may be young but I'm a big die hard fan of all auto racing since 2001 and a bowl fan since 2005. I may have never raced but I'm always in the seat cheering on the drivers.

I think It could be that they are looking to get out? Make a new car, or step up a division. This happened last year with the 35 LM team. They were looking to build a new car.

Im tryin dude....10 quick picks a week....haha.

They are prolly for sale to either switch to a more affordable or competitive division or they have just had enough. Happens every year. Or they could be switching tracks in which they can not race they're ACT Type car at,which kinda is the biggest reason there are only 12 to begine with. They cant race it anywhere.
