Heck i didnt think the bowl even had a rulebook on the property...... My opinion is based on hear say as i was not in the pits, but if he was told by an official only have to take green, then he got screwed. Everyone in the joint knew the plan,so Mr Tapely shoud have made it a point to address this in the drivers meeting and specify what needed to happen,so i blame the race directer 100% for this whole ordeal, big surprise there. Dont count out kid rock for the track title just yet my freinds. He now knows what he has to do,and with this weekends up coming rain out wil give him more time to heal,so he can drive longer until they make the swap. Keith is one tough cookie and i dont see him throwing in the towel that quickly.

Oh by the the way has the bowl ever overlooked a rule book glitch in the past? Oh heavens no they would never do such a thing...

I only went to watch doug race anyway,so i left a happy camper. awsome race, best of year imo.....congrats to 1 of the best drivers in new england. dude can wheel a darn car thats for sure

so...you're saying that the race director needs to explain every rule to every driver that could cover any possible scenario that they could run into? what happened to reading the rule book and understanding it? if every rule was explained in detail in the drivers meeting they would be there for 8 hours.

call it what you want but yes if there is a potential situation, that is well known yes i beleive it is the race directers responsablity to make sure all parties involved know exactly what needs to happen. He knew they would be doing a driver swap so as a so called race directer should have not made it clear prior to the race the correct way to do so. i believe so, it was a race and he directs the race right? It was no secret they were gonna do a swap. Sorry for those who dissagree but the bowl could be the poster boy for lack of consistancy and compitance. No hair off off my back i enjoyed the show, but the race directer does not do a good job. He does better than thompson though i will give him that much. But a monkey could do a better job at thompson....... again jmo from the info i have heard from the grape vine.but if he did his job we would not be even having this discussion

99% or more of everything goes super smooth at the bowl on raceday. Then everyone, including me, jumps in and stirs the pot and stokes the fire. It's not going to be perfect.

it's not his job to hold everyone's hand and make sure they understand the rule book.

I'd love to see you try this mentality in court as a defense. well you see your honor, no one explained to me going 81 mph was against the rules.

I'll bet you got a trophy in grade school for finishing 8th?

ruh roh now we gonna start the insults? I think i did get a trophy in 8th grade,i did the most pull ups. Do you get a trophy for driving from jersey every week ot just a thank you see you next week. Again i will repeat myself, from what i heard keith asked before the race and was told must take initial green flag which he did, if the fact was he must complete the 1st green flag lap then that information should have been told to him. If it went down differently than i am hearing then thats a different story. 99% smooth? ummm i would have to argue that number,if that was the case i would still be going every week, but now i just go when i feel like it or get bored. Still beats thompson though, boy they sure do have they're heads up the backside.....hahahaha

I go there to make money. I dont go to complain about what I saw. I did get a trophy when one of those cars won a feature. Super nice kid.

if "before the race" meant Tuesday, yes you are correct.

I'm just busting your chops.... tuesday thursday saturday, does it really matter? If a team asks in advance about a specific issue and is given wrong info,or not the complete answer, loop holes included, then yes i still put that on the race directer. It was a race and should have been directed properly before the race...not after the fact. Now if the team did not ask in advance then it would shame on them too bad so sad,but i do not think that was the case.. just my double pennies worth.....

i really did get the pull up trophy though..... to be honest i dont recall the year, i got mad one day and broke it so it could be shower rod by now.......
