those were first offenses and under green, and same punishment
I'm not familiar with the Myers call, I dont get to see every race while working. if he was DQ'd, I'm going to guess he made contact under yellow, or it was a second offense during that event under green.
Myers DQ was not under caution and was the first race of the year and his only incident in that race. Shouldn't he have been sent to the rear since it was his first offense?
I believe Downing first incident of the year was spinning Puleo in the heat race. He also was not sent to the rear but was DQed for the night. Maybe it is because Puleos car was wrecked. I honestly don't know. I may be wrong as to this being his first offense of the year if I am then please correct me so I know what his first offense was.
I don't care if they get DQed or sent to the rear for spinning someone as long as it is the same for everyone. I am not saying that its not going to be the same for everyone as far a suspensions go for 2nd or 3rd offenses. I honestly don't remember right at this moment if anyone previously listed has had more then one offense this year. Just saying I hope the track will try to treat everyone the same.
like I said, I dont know all the details of the Myers DQ so I cant really comment on it. I will add this, Myers may have been warned on Raceceiver to stop whatever it was he was doing and he didnt follow the warning. I honestly dont know, I didnt see this race. I can only throw out things that could get you set down.
Downings first offense was "right turning" Puleo, blatantly into the fence under green opening day. parked for the weekend and he didnt learn a thing from it.
I think the thing that needs to be looked at is intentional vs. over aggressive. both leave someone holding the crap end of the stick, but the actions that led to them are not the same. the "tap, tap, tap spin" vs. "hooking someone's right rear" are different. the first is someone in a hurry to get to the front the second is retaliation for something. my point here may not come across exactly how I want it, so...if you want to talk to me about it, see me some Saturday night and I'll give you my best to explain it.
