Wrong Ryan was 16 last year. There was even a press release on Thompson's website when NASCAR lowered the age saying they would keep their age limit at 16 for all divisions due to the fact of the high speeds of the track.

I just feel like there should be a loop hole. If a 15 yrd kid holds a licsense to race on the tour he/she should be allowed to race a sk. I hope that at some point during the season we have a youngen do well in a tour car prompting an interview. One question i would ask is so now that you been driving this 700 hp rocketship are you exited about turning 16 so you can try out 1 with only 400 hp? Think your ready to step it up a notch??? Sorry i just find it amuzing

We are always looking into expanding our announcing staff with more pit reporters, if you like to do interviews, and you seem to have some pretty good questions, you should apply, email me MCaise@Speedbowl.com with your information.

Not sure how much you know about NASCAR Licenses, or rental cars for that matter, but did you know that 2011 Daytona 500 Champion Trevor Bayne cannot get a rental car? It is all about insurance, in a nutshell a NWAAS license entitles those members to a certain level of insurance and a NASCAR Tour license entitles those members to another level of insurance. NASCAR simply changed their insurance policies from the previous season.

So yes, it might not make sense to someone who doesn't hold a NASCAR License. It has nothing to do with the type of car whether it be a 700hp Tour car to a 400hp SK or a 850hp Cup car to a 185hp Ford Fusion.

Bayne cannot get a rental car because he's under the age of 25.

It still amuses me.... Hypathetical situation is a kid can win the sizzler in the premere nascar modified division but is not elligable to compete weekly in what some consider a training division. I know there are state laws and other stuff. I mean shouldn't nascar have to obide by state laws to? I need these 3 weeks to go by fast before i go goofy like nascar already is

Will Thompson or Stafford even allow a 15 year old to drive in a WMT car? Is it not the track that allows who can and can not drive at their track? Heck you would think that Stafford and Thompson would have some pull, since they hold half the tours on the schedule.

Luv and Paul- read what Mark said again. It's not the state laws or just the tracks, it's the insurance, and the different levels of insurance available to certain divisions and series. For a track to shell out all that extra money(if they could even get a policy) to cover one or two drivers, may not make economical sense in most cases.

It just seems like nascar should have commuicated with they're varying states and tracks before making this kind of descision. Who cares is nascar says its ok if the tracks and states say its not? End of the day it dont really matter as there prolly wont be alot of kids on the tour but this has the impression of a poorly thought out rule change on nascars part.
