I was poking around looking at upcoming events and a few things caught my eye. Staffords 100 lap sk race is only 18 bucks. Bowls 100 lapper is 25 bucks. Staffords 150 lapper is 25 whiles bowls is 30. What i find interesting is that stafford could charge more and still get the crowd but opt not to price people away. While the bowl raises to much and hurts they're own attendance. Newsflash Thompson is struggling and fans are going to stafford, Perfect oppurtunity for the bowl to get some unhappy ct race fans in the place. Drop those ticket prices, give peeps a reason to come on out. Once they see the side by side action, they will return more often. 1 of the first things fans do when planning things is jump online and see whos got what and how much the ticket is. I went to Star this weekend and was shocked at how many faces from the bowl i noticed skipped out and drove to new hampshire. I went to too check the place out,but really didnt expect to see the amount of familar faces i was seein, the stands were about 85% full. Not bashing at just sayin.

I don't have the time to sit and scrutinize each schedule. (Do you people have jobs?)

However, I'd venture to guess that the events you reference are extra distances events for all divisions at the Speedbowl, vs Stafford who generally has extra distance events for all divisions at the beginning and end of the year.

Gotta pay the purse somehow I suppose, right?

Yea true but wouldn't having more full seats rather than empty ones help to pay the purse? That happens to be 1 thing i like about stafford is they dont have a lot of extra distances and when they do ticket goes up a little not alot. How is making a simple observation, with an opinionated thought labled as scrutinzing? Yea i think some people do have jobs, and they may also have days off and surf the racing web. Heck some have jobs that allow them to surf while they work. Who woulda thunk it...... each is own i guess.

I will agree with LtM on this subject, I'm a pit person, but the massive jumps in prices for some of these events is strange.

I have to disagree with you LTM. Stafford SK 100 feature has 4 regular lap divisions that night. As Waterford has a 100 lap SK and 3 50 lap races. An 2 small INEX races. Once more for Stafford SK 150. The four divisions are regular distance. As for Waterford SK 150 has 7 other races. I think the price is right for the races that will take part at the bowl. I'm sure they can cut down the prices if you want. They can scrap a few of the races but that will only hurt them. I think it's fair for what they are asking. Once more the only price I'm not happy is with the finally. But other then that it looks decent enough for me.

But I looked on the schedule The bowl is taking July 9th off. What track are you guys going to? Or will you stay home and take the week off?

if you think stafford has better prices, then thats where you should go. if you want to see the best side by side racing go to the bowl

Buy the season pass when the offer for the largest discount is there, and be done with it.

Exactly. Season passes dramatically reduces the per race price, even on regular nights. Notice that Thompson has never offered season passes? Not sure about Stafford.

Even with speedbowl people going to star,
the bowl had a very good crowd I would say.
