The day started off fine, It was looking like the night was going to be a good show. But mother nature came in and rained on our parade. Was I happy about the 30$ price tag? No I was not, but I keeped my mouth shut. I did not want to be the negative-nancy. 30$ just seems to be right on the edge of the thin rope. Specially when Stafford just had a WMT for the same price the other night. :|

For the first time this year I think the bowl had the most amount of people they had in the stands. It's such a shame people left with a sour taste after the ISMA race. Let's talk about the ISMA race. By my clock just to finish 47 laps it took them 1 hour and 40 minutes. It's just one of those events that take forever to finish. And I for one was not happy how they finished. By the way did anyone get to SEE the finish?

Now we can not blame the track for the cancellations because of weather. Can we blame the drivers? Can we blame the officials? Even if it is easy to point fingers. I don't think we can blame anyone. After the ISMA race I heard on the speaker that they canceled the rest of the night. And they put two Street Stock races on June 11th card. And two SK races on June 18th card. That gave me a little smile. I just hope they don't jack the prices for both events. But I still feel cheated with that 30$ price tag. When I only got to see is 2 and a half races. :?

I talked to a lot of people after the race. Most of them were fans. Most of them were on vacation. But the general concussion was that they were not happy. And I asked them this. "If the Speedbowl offered a 2$, 3$ or even a 5$ price cut for next week or for another week. Would you feel better?" And they said yes. Let's face it, if thing are cheaper then more fans would show up. And one event for 13$, 12$ and even 10$ wound most definitely bring in the people. And make the sour taste of the fog disappear. This is of course only an idea for the Speedbowl Management.

The Late Model race was exciting and I can't believe for the 2nd week in-a-row the LM went GWC. The Mini Stock race was exciting, it was one of a kind. :D I talked to a few crews after the cancellation. Most of them did not know what to do. The SK's and SS were ready to race and they did not really need to be worked on. It might look like the car numbers for next week might be up. I even had a word with TC. I asked him the next time he will make a stop at the bowl. He said he will be here for the June 18th double-trouble SK feature.

Well that's my rant, my two cents. I would love to hear everyone else thoughts. Let's get the discussion rolling. :ugeek:

Best crowd of the year. We were sitting in our normal spot above the entrance to the right of the flagstand and by the start of the ISMA race you could already see the dark fog clouds starting to roll in. But we thought we would still get the program before they landed since it was only 8 PM.

My thoughts on the ISMA race - may have topped the 12 lap SK wreckfest we saw when Myers visited last year as being one of the worst races we've ever seen.

Probably the highlight of the race was just reading Shawn Courchesne's tweets as the race descended into chaos - actually between his and Sid's tweets we were able to at least enjoy the many delays. As Shawn said last night on Twitter the ISMA's either are really good or really bad at the Speedbowl. Not sure why.

Disappointed that we didn't get to see TC in any features at all - one for a heat race accident (incredulous over the circumstances but that's racin) and one for the fog. Not a TC fan but exciting whenever he shows ups. Also was looking forward to another great SK race after last week's drama.

We'll be back as we are every week - I hope the ISMA's have a better race when they come back for Wings and Wheels.

Overall last night - one we won't soon forget. :)

Again, going green to checkered is NOT a GWC.

HAHA yea they are a little bit different, seein as its kinda hard to have a gwc when go flag to flag.....

Boy oh boy what a night, its pretty sad when you have more fun reading tweets and listening what all the people in the house are saying but hey its the bowl. Not the first dissater and it sure as heck wont be the last. Those kind of nights happen, but what bothered me the most was the insane amount time wasted riding around under yellow. I dont know if they were really waiting for guys to make repairs or not,but evening fog was in the forcast so one would think they would have kicked in high gear rather than back step to low gear. Worse case if they had not wasted so much time they coulda got the sk race in and only have to make up 1. It was pretty obvious the isma officials and track officials had a lasp in communication somewhere.

Of course it was the best crowd of the year,ISMA plus TC there ya go peeps in seats. Next week will be back to average, wings n wheels will be jam packed, and the sk-150 will get a decent crowd. Once school gets out and it the weather is nice crowds will improve but special events are when the fans show up. Not bad mouthing the place in any way but thats just the way it is. Anyone that goes weekly sees the difference in attendance on givin nights.

I had fun though, yea the price was a rip-off but we knew that goin in, It was our choice to pay it.

I need to take few weeks off from the bowl to replenish my wallet and collect my thoughts on which shows im gonna attend.

Look at the bright side as bad as it was it could have been alot worse. Alot of dissapointment but nobody was injured so that in itself is good.

The ISMA race was the worst race I have ever seen...worse than the Burt Myers experience. The MS even banged around abit but they always put on very good show. I was really looking forward to watching TC/Rocco show in the SK feature...stupid fog. LM another GWC! Congrats to Richard Staskowski...

I hope the track does something to offset the price of the make up on June ?? It would be the "right" thing to do since they did have their first really good crowd of the year...(I got up for beer and my seat was taken every time..).
