The radar showed the storm breaking up earlier. we were all at the track watching the radar, and tghinking we might get brushed with a little rain, but would get the show. What determined pulling the plug was the sudden onset of severe weather, including lightning.

I'm sure Terry would trade your fuel bill for what it cost him to get to the point we were at, when the decision was made in the interest of safety. Too bad you cannot appreciate that.

You would probably be here complaining that we could have gotton the show in, if they HAD canceled early.

You could always save some fuel next week........

just saying that the radar for the northeast was covered in storms and getting stronger as time went on..besides as for terry trading bills to get where they were ...maybe it was just to get some $$$$$$$$ through the back gate to pay bills. they could have called it at 4:30

lol. Yeah, the money from the back gate that will be a wash next week when those people get in for free. Get a clue. Fuel for the track vehicles, electricity for everything that had been fired up already, services and employees. Ya know, it's a darned if you do, and if you don't, situation. It's really too bad that there will always be some tears that will need to be wiped up no matter what the call is.

steve520 your right darned if you do darned if you don't ..but the speedbowl could have saved every body $$ if they called it off earlier .....hey what happened to the ENDURO weekend of racing ..there was LESS of a chance of rain then!!! wasn't called because of threatening storms just lack of loosing $$ and no cars showing up

Sometimes it's tough because alot of people trevel (even Gino) and just know they are not going to race. It makes it much easier when they call early and saves alot of people time and money. I know if I still traveled to the track from home for Saturdays, I'd wait until the last possible minute to leave. I've done the 2.5-3 hour roundtrip for nothing and it isn't fun.

Yeah, late in the afternoon when it started getting dark and nasty it started pouring with thunder and lightning and then they had tornado warnings along the southeastern coast of the state I was thinking what a nice night for racing. They tried to see if things could go off and then the new england weather thing took over. Sorry for your costs but we have all been there before and sometimes you get the bear and sometimes you get the beer.

Im not sure which weather service they look at but weather.com has a nifty little futurecast tool. Its not 100% as new england weather is never a guarentee, but is usualy pretty darn close and has saved me alot of unecasary travel. i was planning going to seekonk last night cause the word was 30% chance and i looked at the future storm path in motion and it showed clearly it would rain so i stayed home. It rained. I always check several different forcasts and that 1 is usualy the closest. it has time lines and everthing. Maybe they could utilize the free service. But i would drive to a track and turn around all day long rather than sit at home staring at sunshine all night. I give the track credit for taking the chance. They were wrong so what it happens. They gave the event a chance to take place rather than just pulling it at 10:00. Its easier to swallow when they hold out and get rained on then when they pull it early and it never rains.

I have noticed something this year, how come all the tracks always say unable to dry track but yet when i leave the parking lot the roads are allready near dry? Does race tire rubber make it that much harder to dry a track? They say humidty but why do the real roads dry that much faster? This is in no way a complaint for lack of drying attempt but merely a question of why race tracks are that much harder to dry. Last week i sat at stafford waiting and when i left the roads were bone dry. I said to myself why wouldnt the track dry then?

Took the long way there last night, haha.

Rt9 was backed up around Exit 9, so multiple cars including my self went down the on rap(we had literally stayed in the same spot for 15 min), went down Rt 81, to Rt154, then Rt82, and finally onto 85. Took an hour and a half. As I was goin by the Dinosaur place, I saw the 22x Super drive by the other way on a trailer, knew it was cancelled then. Oh well, joined a few of my friends and hung out for a while that night instead!
