If you were there you'd understand my reasoning for picking that title, haha.

Minimal practice tonight, only one round per division, due to the track needing to be dried after a quick shower pulled in around 5:30pm.

For the record, they really need to put a light on the off-ramp of 395 North.

Practice almost went the distance without any hitches, but this was prevented when the #86 X-Car broke something important(sounded like a gearbox to me), and would retire for the rest of the night.

First feature of the night was the Bandolero's, in a 20 lap event. The race went lights to flag with the #20 of Taylor Martin taking the win.

Podium:
1. Taylor Martin
2. Chris Lomartire
3. Nick Sowa

Now, I know some people may disagree with me on this, but I personally think the Bando's should go back to 15 lap features. They get strung out after about 5 or 6 laps and it's like watching a cup race at Michigan, if you catch my drift. 20 laps is just too much.

Up next, the X-Modifieds, with an absolutely massive starting grid of EIGHT cars!

There were a few yellows that slowed this race, no doubt due to the track conditions causing everyone's tires to become about as slippery as a dog on linoleum. The biggest accident of the race occurred when the #8 of Corey Larson lost it coming into T1 and piledrived the wall in the middle of T1 and 2. After the yellow was withdrawn it was the #16 of Bubby Brouwer emerging victorious over the #94 of Paul French.

Podium:
1. Bubby Brouwer
2. Paul French
3. Rob Gallaer

More opinions! If you're gonna race an X-Mod, why not remove the restrictor plate and run it as an SK in a few events a year? You'll be paid more and with the higher profile of a Saturday night, it will attract more sponsors.

Third on the bill were the INEX Legends Cars, with only 15 starters tonight, there shouldn't be much action, right?

Well you'd be wrong with that assumption, as it all got sketchy down the back stretch on the opening lap. It looked to me that the #13 of Carl Blandina slowed unexpectedly entering T3, and they all stacked up behind him, with the #96 of Gio Giarratana taking the brunt of the impact, as he was forced to retire. Another car that was involved in the skirmish was the #22 of Joe Campbell, who was forced to the pits after he had rear-ended someone and it bent his front bumper all to hell. He returned after a trip to the pit lane.

Two more cautions slowed the race after a couple of spins, which set up an exciting finish. The cars driven by Eddie Field(#30), Dana DiMatteo(#76), Anthony Flannery(#25), and Jason Palmer(#17ct) were to duke it out over the remaining laps. Flannery went on to take the win over DiMatteo and Feild, with Palmer finishing fourth. Funny, he sells his old car to Tony, and Flannery becomes a rocket, while Palmer has nothing for him this year. Palmer could absolutely smoke anyone last year in the same(Flannery's current) car. Seems kinda fishy if you ask me...

Podium:
1. Anthony Flannery
2. Dana DiMatteo
3. Ed Field

The penultimate event of the night was a 20-lap Super X car race, with 22 starters. The familiar rough-and-tumble action you'd expect from these full framed behemoth's was in full effect, as it took them less than a lap to wreck a few of them, with the #01ct of Tylor DiFrancesca and the #82 of James Consalvo taking a wild ride across the infield grass and collecting one another when they rejoined the track. The action continued with the green flag came out again, with battles all around the track. One to watch was the #62 of Taylor-Marie Moran, who started shotgun on the field and was making her way up through the pack to an eventual 8th place finish(sans power steering). An interesting moment occurred when the #33 of Michael Caprio found the T4 wall for unexpected reasons about halfway through the race, although he continued on as if it didn't faze him.

Charles Beal and John Yagmin got into one another in T4 of the final lap, with Beal ending up in the swamp and Yagmin going on to secure his first victory of 2010.

Podium:
1. John Yagmin
2. Rob Corey
3. Shawn Perkins

Rounding out the night were the 4cyl cousins of the Super X cars, the X Cars, with a 24 car grid.

They too could not get a full lap in under green at the start, with the #80 of Dan Madore being turned in T2 and collecting a few other cars, notables include the #22 of Nate Lloyd, and the #8 of Michael Marvin. The #87 of Brad Vogelsong took to the pits during this time to replace a tire that had gone down during the scuffle, and would restart at the tail end of the field.

More action on the restart, not sure how it started, but it ended with the #3 of Jeremy Violette going up on his nose, and the #27 of Dustin Widger going on a two wheeled ride that would have made Joie Chitwood proud. The catalyst for this incident ending as it did seems to be the rear track width on Jeremy's Prelude, the wheels stick out quite a bit, and are also cambered out a fair bit, thus allowing another car to come in contact with them, open wheel style, and sending them on ride.

Widger took to the pits in what I thought was a night ending flight(if you saw the way that car came back to the ground you'd probably agree with me), but was soon flying behind me on his way back out onto the circuit before the restart.

Watching Widger come back through the field was magic, finally culminating in a 4th place finish, behind the #7 of Michael Trask, the #34 of Dan D'Addario, and winner Patrick Williams, in the #78.

Podium:
1. Patrick Williams
2. Dan D'Addario
3. Mike Trask

That concluded a wet night at the Speedbowl, with mist in the air throughout the entire night, just like last week.

Congrats to all of the winners on May 19; Taylor Martin, Bubby Brouwer, Anthony Flannery, John Yagmin and Patrick Williams, I hope to see you all next week!
