"Don't look back. Something might be gaining on you." - Satchel Paige

Well This week was not so bad. Saturday was warm and out of the blue before I was going to leave to the track my uncle finally broke at the last minute and decided to come with me. Your welcome bowl! Also everyone please bare with me as for the last few days things have been fuzzy so if things are out of order please don't hate me. :P

So by the time we got to the track the Legend Car heats were already over. So the Mini stock heats came around, Sean Caron in the 52 beat out Mark Panaroni in the 51 for the first heat race win. In the 2nd Mini heat race Chris Williams won over the hard charging Ken Cassidy Jr. Next was the SK mods heats. That's when I got my program for this week. If you did not get one then you all missed out on some sweet pictures from 2 weeks ago. Anyway with the big bad disaster from two weeks ago if the track would have raced last week you would probably would have seen a very small field of SK's but with 2 weeks of rest and repair we were treated to a decent size field. The first heat win went to Todd Ceravolo over Tom Abele Jr. The 2nd SK heat win for the 3rd or 4th time this year to Kyle James over Dennis Charette. And the 3rd heat win went to Tyler Chadwick over Diego Monahan.

The trucks heats was next. This time the bowl separated the field for the heats instead of doing them all at once. Howard Payne won the first heat over Allen Coates. I found out that Keith Rocco was in that heat race but it looks like something was wrong with the truck because at the end he backed up quite fast he was going for 3rd I think at the time. and then the 2nd heat win went to Brad Caddick over Keith Chapman. Street Stocks heats came out next Norm Sears beat Josh Galvin and for the 2nd heat Jack Aquilina won.

With 15 minutes to spare we went out for a walk. You all don't want to know what we did with our spare time. By the time we were coming back to our seats I noticed no one was in line for food. It had to be that they shaped up or that no one buys the food. It did not bother me I made sure I had plenty of food from Subway before I came to the track. But all out threw the night when I went to the bathroom or when they had the red flag I had my eye on the food line and still there was no one in line. Did they get faster or is it that no one wants to wait so long so they bring in there own food?

Up first was the Street Stock's 17 cars, there was a lot of fighting for first but the one that came on top was an impressive win from Norm Sears. 2nd was Walter Hovey and 3rd was Steve Barret. Also Al "Stone Cold" the 3rd was doing very good into the late crash. He was very mad and showed it on the track as he tryed not once but 3 times to take out Josh Galvin. But Josh but the petal to the floor and put some distance between from Al.

The Legend Cars came out next. 21 cars, And I still don't know why the bowl does not give them the extra 5 laps they should get. They had a bad crash with 2 laps to go it brought out the red flag I'm not to sure who got into the bad crash but I think they were Kyle Rogers, Dana Dimatteo, Dave Garbo, Troy Talman, Joe Bavolacco and some more drivers. The fight for the win was close but the win went to Tony Flannery and 2nd was Shaun Buffington and 3rd was Alessandro Vitelli.

The SK Mods came out next and that was one good race 21 Mods started. The fight for the race lead came down to a lot of guys the lead changes were like at Talladega Superspeedway. The 2nd red flag came out when Jeffrey Paul was pushed into the front stretch wall. He bounced off and looked like he could keep on going but in the back stretch it looked like his tire went down and collected a lot of drivers. Tyler Chadwick, Todd Ceravolo and a few more. But it all came down to one person. Who is more hungry for that championship then anyone out on that track. Keith Rocco took his 3rd win of the year as Jeff Pearl came of with an impressive 2nd, an the "1-2-3 kid" Diego Monahan came in 3rd after fighting to stay in the top 3.

After Rocco won the trucks were next. But since Rocco won in the SK's the track had to do outside introductions as Rocco was getting his pictures taken in Victory Lane. The race started with 13 trucks. and this race was not for how fast you can go but how long you can go before your truck went south and for Allen Coates it lasted 22 Laps. We were treated to the big one as on the last lap on the 4th turn when Howard Payne went for the win. Everyone from 2nd and back crashed leaving 2nd place and 3rd place to anyone that could cross the line that did not spin out. Howard Payne won the race, Keith Chapman fished 2nd and coming form the back Dan Butler finished 3rd.

So with the last race coming up I'm sure the Mini Stock guys were ready to get the show going. 21 cars started and it did not take long for them to have their big one as well, as someone went sideways and went right in front of the field early in the race. Greg Moran Sr, Charles Canfield, Ray Christian III and Bo Norman got in the crash and ended their night. As the track crew was cleaning the track up, I forgot to put in my most popular Driver award slip in. But I found Sid sitting not to far form me and I handed in the paper to him my self. Well not to soon the race went back under way. And I did not notice but it looked like Danny Field got in the big one as he restarted the race dead last. But it did not take him long to get by everyone as he was going for his 4th win in the row. But the win for that night went to Chris Williams and 2nd was to a very hungry Ken Cassidy Jr and 3rd was to Danny Field.

Well that's all for last week. This week this Saturday the Bowl and Stafford go head to head but since I'm a Bowl fan you will see me at the Speedbowl. Hey Sid don't strain your pitching hand when you warm up  Also who here thinks what division will have the lowest car count at the track this week. The Late Models or the Bandolero's?

Bandoleros could have a low count. Bethel in N.Y. and 106 in N.H. both have opening nights this week. If anyone intends to run there regular they may go there for points. Most should be at Waterford for Wed, nights though.

the outside intro's were planned long before Keith accepted the ride in the 94. it was more to show off the new division sponsor and get the Big Rig on the track.

Greg Sr was the one that spun in front of the pack. He musta had ten hands in that car tryin to save it down the front stretch.

I just want to confirm what Shadow had posted regarding the outside introductions for the trucks last Saturday. The intros were definitely planned long before I asked Keith to drive my #94 on Monday of last week. Unfortunately a RF flat sidelined Keith last Saturday but I am confident when he gets back in the seat of the #94 at the next truck race on May 15th he will have a better run.
