And big time props to the track crew for getting the track race ready - turn 1 wasn't great, but considering what they had to overcome, they did a fantastic job!!

I understand it was alot of work, I understand it was a nice day, I understand the track got lucky racing modifieds through water and not having a major incident but that was not "race ready". Giving drivers and owners the choice to "man up" chancing a pretty major saftey issue or throw away your season by going home is tough to swallow.

The races wouldn't stay green if that much water splashed on the track from the infield for any division. Going green with it there is kindof nutty.

I also understand it turned out OK but being lucky isn't being smart. i guess the show must go on.

"he was also told during the week to change it". Not sure where your info came from, but he was not told any such thing. This coming straight from him.

I understand rules are rules, but when someone does something(maybe even in a pinch because it's all they have), and that something is actually a DISadvantage, I have no problem with letting it slide for a week. The other problem I have with a call like that is it was sooo obvious(half the allowed size) that it had to have been seen during the inspection the week before. Why not say something then? ya know? A simple "hey, you need to get that changed, it's outside the rules" While we are on the subject, I heard the call from the week before was for an 1/8 of an inch too high?! If that is true, THAT was a bad call also. I'll bet I can go into Advanced or Auto Zone and look up the part numbers for multiple "3 inch" air cleaners, and find variances in the thickness of the molded rubber tops and bottoms that would be 1/8 inch or more.

Anyway, enough ranting. The track did a great job getting the water out. I have no problem with the food, and I say Mark is most certainly considered a rookie. This is a different track than Stafford, and he has less than 5 races in the sk's at Waterford before this season. oh, and Paul "Poor Josh Galvin he was leading most of the race in till his car died". Josh led 8 laps after taking the lead from Ronnie. Yes, he would have won(he was that good Saturday night), but he did not lead most, or even half, of the race.

I would rather the track stick to they're guns and enforce penalties. wether an advantage or not if there are certain specs in rule book thats that. If someone knows they have an unapproved part it should be they're responsability to check with the track prior to even practice. im sure they will either yay or nayy. rules are rules as long NOBODY gets leeway. just my opinion though.

You can Mark a rookie if ya want to me its just a lable. I guess if Teddy was to run Wall Stadium full time for the 1st time ever i guess you call him a rookie too right? It makse the same point you make.
Marks a rookie as far as stats go bude dude just not a rookie driver......to me at least but too each is own. Now J Palmer he's a rookie. Kyle James...rookie.
