I remember that once, but had to look it up to see exactly when it was (

http://www.sids-vault.com/stats.php?a=1&b=6&c=5&d=2It was 2004, the last Saturday night event on the schedule (before Finale Weekend) was on Sat Oct 2, every division except the SK and LM got their features in before the rains came, so they ppd the SK and LM races and ran them on Sunday afternoon. I'm pretty sure that as long as you kept your ticket stub from Saturday, you got in for free on Sunday. I wanna say it was about points, NASCAR points were all final by then, so it had to be for track points... assuming Reed/Gada in the SK's as that went right down to the wire during the Finale the following week.
But the incident in 2004 wasn't a pre-planned, announced rain date prior to the event. If I remember correctly, they made the announcement at the track that Saturday right when they said the night was officially scrapped over the PA, so it was spur of the moment decision.
Also, 2004 example was only about rescheduling Speedbowl divisions. Last Saturday involved 3 touring divisions (4 if you wanna count NEMA lights separately since they run a somewhat different schedule than the NEMA's), so I can only guess it has to do with logistics between all the series as to why they never utilize Sunday as a rain date (although I don't see the big deal, it's only the next day so travel would be the same, you would think??).
No opinion either way, but Gino called me out so that's what I got
