I like the idea of not going against Seekonk, but...you have to worry about mother nature not being nice to you that late in the year. one postponement and you are into the middle of Nov. plus the first week of Nov is the north/south shootout, some of our top guns head south.

no idea is crazy, keep throwing them out there.

I thought Robby Gordon could win the Dakar Rally this year. To bad he was DQ on stage 4 for not starting the race on time. Mark Miller (USA) in the cars is 6th overall with 3 hours behind. For the bikes Cody (USA) Is 10th 2 hours behind and Street (USA) 14th 3 hours behind overall. After stage 7. Few more stages to go before it's over.

That's all for me, what do you all think? Agree or disagree that cool.

Robby will never win Dakar.

You want crazy? Hows this for crazy. I will use budweiser national as an example for this crazy idea. Starting opening day have a fan donation booth set up every week. Accept donations all season long, and come national time take all donations and dump it all into the total purse. Race pays 5000 to win as it sits. Here are some quick basic numbers i came up with. Say 100 people contribute only 5 bucks week thats 500 bucks, no schdule yet but based on the official nascar 18 event schedule,if they get just that small amount of donations consistantly they would have an extra 9000 bucks to bump the purse threw out the entire field. I dont know about other people but i would contribute every single week, more than 5 bucks. Tricky part would be assuring people they're donation would be used for as stated, but it could make for 1 hell of budweiser modifed national.

Crazy enough for ya? Give the fans a chance to help and i think they will step up to the plate. Could even give out ticket vouchers, set up a percentage scale, for every amount donated recieve a discount at the ticket booth. Example donate 5 bucks 1 week and get 2 dollars off for the following week.

From what I've heard the sk lites and x mods will be racing together for a handful of shows on Saturday nights. Hopefully it will work out and some sk lites will show up. There are a allot of them that run every week at Stafford so it should be interesting to see who will show up. But unfortunately I have a feeling if your a top runner up there and are racing for points why would you want to risk running at the bowl and tearing your car up. Unless you have more than one car. Time will tell. Plus Thompson has added them to the Icebreaker lineup. I'm looking foward to that because if its anything like the world series than that race should be a good one.

I think the Sk Lite / X-Mod merger at the Bowl is a VERY GOOD thing...... Its been talked about for a while now, and I'm happy to see it come to fruition. My only gripe/concern/....rant...( the Dog being the Dog) whatever is that the X-mod competitors have been allowed to use a full up Sk engine BUT are required to use a restrictor plate.. This I do not and have never agreed with. A "starter" division should be a........ "starter" division. Some that try it will never have, find, or accummulate the $$$ to go anywhere else. Those that can afford the jump into the Sk division should ride with the Lites and X-Mods for at least a year, just to get the seat time before jumping into the lions mouth. We have seen what happens when a competitor is allowed to jump right in with virtually no experience and run an Sk. The other engine issue that I offer is one that the ORIGINAL Danbury Racearena "Sportsman" (later to become Sk's) had. Our rules committee spent a tremendous amount of time putting together an engine package that would live at 5600 rpm, with a gear rule also. Competitors where allowed to complain about burning up and having to replace roccker arms. Soon roller rockers ...ad more where introduced to help. My point? TECHING of these motors will be key... i.e., The 5600 rpm motor was run with a .500" lift cam.... or at least that was the LEGAL lift.... Hense to go more lift with the stock rockers and lifters??....you close off the oil hole to the pushrod and BURN UP the "STOCK" rockers... Just be aware lites & x-mod people and keep YOUR division affordable. Dog out.

Steve, there is way more behind the scenes to the story regarding the trucks but I'm not going to post the info here. I suggest you give either me, Howard Payne, or Doug Dunleavy a call for some insite.

I'm quite sure I don't know all the angles and whatnot to the story, but I still feel it was the right decision for the bowl, the fans and the truck drivers and owners. Hopefully the count will go up, the racing will be better, and the fans will get to see more than 4 trucks per heat race or 9 trucks per feature.

I personally want to see the division thrive, buit it wasn't doing that as a stand-alone 'bowl' division.

Like I told you, if I had the $$ we would have been loading your truck up, on my trailer.
