Yes Matt Wall is open but from weekly results i have read that dont have any cars either. Dont know much about the track so not sure if thats normal or if they are hurtin also. I look at severaly weekly results and the bowl and stafford are the only ones with decent weekly sk counts. The fendered counts pretty much suck across the board. With the exception of few tracks up north getting decent LM counts. I forget which ones though. Having gone to a few different places over the years the thing i notice is the bowl has 1 of the best competion levels. Every track has that 1 or 2 blazin fast guys but at most tracks they just drive on by and walk away. At the bowl a slower car can at least race a faster car. Granted the faster car usualy prevails ALA Rocco or coates. A decent car hooked up has a chance, cant say that at many tracks. I say car not driver because there alot of good drivers but even a top driver is only as good as the car he sits in. Alot of times big car counts only looks good for the green flag. Example thompson can get 25 minis on a given night but 5 can win. And when they start em in the front well it doesnt make for a very good race even though there is alot of cars out there. Another thing is while having 3 ct track gives fans a choice it also gives competiters a choice. A fan can just jump in his car and drive somewhere else while with all the rule variations a race team has do alot of change over or in somecases build a whole new car to change tracks. Add the fact that the cost of racin keeps goin up and the payout doesnt ever go up you lose more and cars every week. Higher payouts would help but does anyone see that happening? I dont. Not anytime soon at least. dont know the actualy numbers but a car has to win with no problems to just break even on the nightly cost. It takes its toll, just look in your wallet after attending a race as a fan and immagine what a independant car owners wallet looks like after a bad night at the track. The racin industry is just in a really bad time right now. As Sid says....Just Sayin.
