FIRST and foremost Shadow and Jen thank you for locking the topic entered by Paul Rose. After The jeff-pearl.com forum was shut down I promised myself that I would stay away from this forum stuff because NO ONE knows better than I how it can breed some real........... bad stuff. SO.... I with ALL do respect to Shadow, Jen and yes even Paul I would like to respond to Pauls concern over the lack of a reply form..... "Race Dog", i.e., me. Paul you now have my undivided attention and I hope that I have yours. A brief resume of the Race Dog.... I do have a day job.. get up every morning at 4:30 a.m. to get ready for my real job. I am a machinist by trade and that is what pays the bills. I live about a 2 hour ride from the Speedbowl which I currently do twice a week, that is approximately 11 - 12.000 miles per year just going to the Speedbowl. As much as I would like the photo thing to pay off, my weekly processing bill lately seems to exceed my expectations of sales. I have been involved in this sport at many different levels..... everything from a photographer, to an owner driver, to a club president. I am certainly not patting myself on the back toughting my accomplishments, cuz in this business they are not all something that I wish to talk about. Heidi is a Project Manager for an organization in Southeastern Connecticut. Each Of our "real" jobs carries a great responseability to ourselves and our families.... then enter the racing photography thing. I can say from experience that there are times when the photography thing can get like pulling an all nighter cuz some dimbbutt (you know what I mean) chose to turn right on me coming off of 4.... I am not asking for your sympathy or giving an appology here, I would just like to ask you to be patient with us. Just because we may not get back to you when you would like us to does not mean that we are ignoring you. Please try to remeber with having to deal with 2 nights .... currently 3...... that we are expected to provide service to over 150 -200 race cars, PLUS the unknown spectator numbers. Also when we get requests we for the most part will order the requested photos at our expence and hope that the person shows up. I really do not want to drag this out so next time you see me in victory lane please stop me and let me know what your concerns are or to just BS a little about the race............................. Oh yeah and my all time favorite thing?... "Image Copyrights"? I can say with confidence that there is no one that I know of that has done more research on this than I have, and if there is they are probably an attorney that specializes in copyright law or it was a course requirement for their degree in college. My finger is and has been for a while now on the "trigger" but as a race fan, a media type, a former owner-driver, and above all someone that LOVES the SPORT my intention would not be to put someone out of business but to ask for the respect that we deserve as photographers and business owners. I hope that I have been as politically correct as I could possibly be here and please do not expect a response from me if you reply. There are people that know how to get in touch with me, you are welcome to get my cell number from them and I encourage you to CALL ME...E-MAIL ME.... or stop by Victory Lane one night and introduce yourself....Lastly... I too am Keith Rocco fan
